HVAC Estimator - HVAC Piping Services - Base Salary to 130k/year - Secaucus, NJ
- Our client is an established mechanical contracting company specializing in commercial HVAC piping, plumbing, and mechanical construction projects. They are seeking an experienced HVAC Estimator to support multimillion-dollar mechanical projects, including high-rise buildings, data centers, large commercial facilities, and mission-critical environments.
- The HVAC Estimator will prepare detailed cost estimates, piping material takeoffs, bid quotations, and proposal packages for commercial HVAC piping projects. This position requires direct experience estimating HVAC piping systems, not solely HVAC sheet metal or ductwork. Candidates must have experience with mechanical construction estimating, Microsoft Excel, and construction project management and document control software.
- This is a full-time, in-office position based in Secaucus, NJ.
Responsibilities:
- Perform detailed HVAC piping quantity takeoffs and prepare material, labor, equipment, and installation cost estimates for commercial mechanical construction projects.
- Analyze mechanical drawings, blueprints, specifications, and bid documents to determine HVAC piping project scope and estimated costs.
- Develop detailed bid quotations, bid packages, scope letters, and proposals for multimillion-dollar mechanical projects.
- Prepare conceptual, design-build, and budget estimates for HVAC piping installations.
- Collect and analyze historical cost data, labor rates, material pricing, and subcontractor quotations to develop project estimates.
- Review construction contracts, bid specifications, and scope documentation for project turnover.
- Attend job site walkthroughs, pre-bid meetings, and scope clarification meetings.
- Coordinate with general contractors, subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers to obtain pricing and clarify project requirements.
- Work with the Engineering Department to review mechanical system designs, piping layouts, and project specifications.
- Assist project managers with HVAC piping takeoffs, change order estimates, and pricing for changes in project scope.
- Use Microsoft Excel, estimating software, project management software, and document control systems to prepare and maintain estimating documentation.
Qualifications:
- 5+ years of estimating experience specifically involving HVAC piping systems within mechanical construction.
- Experience estimating multimillion-dollar mechanical construction projects.
- Experience performing HVAC piping material takeoffs, quantity takeoffs, labor estimates, and detailed cost estimates.
- Demonstrated proficiency in Microsoft Excel for construction estimating and cost analysis.
- Experience using construction project management and document control software.
- Working knowledge of construction and financial software packages.
- Working knowledge of applicable federal, state, and local construction regulations and guidelines.
- Ability to work daily from the Secaucus, NJ office.
Compensation:
- Base salary in the 100k - 130k/year range
