The University of North Alabamas Department of Kinesiology invites applications for a tenure-track faculty position at the assistant/associate/full professor level in health promotion beginning in fall 2027. This appointment is a nine-month appointment with full benefits. Review of applications will begin immediately and continue until the position has been filled. Responsibilities include teaching a 15-credit hour load per academic year student advisement engagement in scholarly activities and professional service and providing service on departmental college and university committees. The ideal candidate will have a passion for health promotion and wellness and demonstrate flexibility in teaching both foundational and applied coursework at the undergraduate and graduate levels. The selected candidate will teach courses in the exercise science and health promotion program which may include health promotion programming wellness coaching applied nutrition health and aging and consumer health among others. Additional responsibilities include maintaining office hours in accordance with university policy and performing other duties as assigned. Applicants should have a high commitment to effective classroom and online teaching student advising and mentoring curriculum development research/scholarship and professional activity.
Minimum qualifications include a doctoral degree in health promotion health education health studies or a health/exercise science-related area required; ABD candidates will be considered provided the degree requirements have been met by the appointment date; a background in teaching at the university level (undergraduate as well as graduate) is preferred; and experience mentoring students especially at the graduate level is desired.
